Live Demonstrations

Hosting an In-booth Demonstration at PSTM

Plastic surgeons love to engage with new and innovative products, so successful PSTM exhibitors offer attendees the opportunity to try their products firsthand. In-booth demonstrations may require prior approval by ASPS. Learn more about hosting in-booth demonstrations below.

Please note, exhibitors are solely responsible for ensuring that all demonstrations comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, including the laws of the State of Texas, as well as all requirements established by ASPS and the convention center. Compliance with ASPS guidelines does not replace or supersede any legal or regulatory obligations.

Demonstrations NOT Requiring Prior ASPS Approval

The following activities do not require an ASPS application, provided they remain non-clinical and low risk:

  • Demonstrations using any non-living models, including mannequins and/or synthetic or simulated tissue models.
  • Hands-on demonstrations where devices are not powered on (e.g. device handling, positioning, workflow demonstration).
  • Product walkthroughs or technique demonstrations without use on a live human subject.
  • Video presentations or recorded procedures.
  • Non-invasive demonstrations limited to external application of cosmetic topical products (i.e. lotions, creams, serums, cleansers, moisturizers) applied to intact skin, where the product is intended for routine use and does not require medical evaluation, post-procedure care, or recovery instructions.

Demonstrations Requiring Prior ASPS Approval

An application must be submitted and approved by ASPS in advance for any demonstration that involves:

  • A live patient (human subject).
  • Cadaveric specimens.
  • Any invasive or minimally invasive procedure, including but not limited to injections (e.g. fillers, toxins, biologics, HCT/Ps), laser or energy-based treatments that interact with tissue, microneedling, dermabrasion, and chemical peels.
  • Use of a powered medical device on a patient.
  • Any procedure requiring clinical judgment or decision-making by a licensed provider.
  • Any activity that constitutes medical care or treatment, regardless of setting.

Demonstrations may be of non-operative medical procedures (including but not limited to injectables, laser-based treatments, skin tightening, chemical peels, dermabrasion, and microneedling) at the discretion of ASPS.

Exhibitors who plan to conduct a demonstration requiring ASPS approval must submit the Live Demonstration Form and upload all required documentation for approval no later than August 14, 2026. These submissions will be reviewed to ensure compliance with venue and local authority regulations. Please review all materials prior to applying.
